JD(U)’s national spokesperson KC Tyagi on Friday said that the INDIA bloc, which “refused” to make Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar its national convenor, is now making offers to make him the prime minister.
“Such is the game of politics that those who had refused to make Nitish Kumar INDIA bloc’s national convenor have been now making offers to make Nitish PM,” Tyagi said, according to The Indian Express.
The JD(U) leader claimed that Nitish Kumar led the INDIA bloc because of the “ill-treatment” by the Congress and other parties, which is why the Bihar Chief Minister was “forced to return” to the NDA this January.
He further said that there is no question of the looking back and CM Nitish will strengthen the NDA.
“There is no question of looking back, as was also said several times by Nitish Kumar during the election campaign. We are now a valued partner of the NDA and we will strengthen hands of Narendra Modi, who is all set to become Prime Minister for the third straight term,” Tyagi said.
He further said that with the JD(U) becoming part of the NDA alliance, the party has got its respectability restored and Nitish Kumar has become a stakeholder in national politics.
“With the NDA, our respectability is restored and Nitish Kumar has become a stakeholder in national politics. We are getting a lot of respect from ally BJP,” he said.
The report further said that Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Kumar Jha and Ramnath Thakur, and Jhanjharpur MP Rampreet Mandal are among the front runners for the Union minister berth.
