    Congress Releases First List Of 48 Candidates For Assembly Elections


    The Congress on Thursday released the list of 48 candidates for Maharashtra Assembly Elections, naming Praful Vinodrao Gudadhe from Nagpur South West and Aslam R. Shaikh from Malad West.

    The party named K.C. Padavi from Akkalkuwa, Rajendrakumar Krushnarao Gavit from Shahada, Kiran Damodar Tadavi from Nandurbar, Shrikrishkumar Surupsingh Naik from Nawapur and Pravin Bapu Choure from Sakri.

    The names of Kunal Rohidas Patil from Dhule Rural, Adv. Dhananjay Shirish Choudhari from Raver, Rajesh Panditrao Ekade from Malkapur, Rahul Siddhivinayak Bondre from Chikhli, Amit Subhashrao Zanak from Risod, Prof. Virendra Valmikrao Jagtap from Dhamangaon Railway, Dr. Sunil Deshmukh from Amaravati, Yashomati Chandrakant Thakur from Teosa, Anirudha alias Bablubhau Subhanrao Deshmukh from Achalpur and Ranjit Pratap Kamble from Deoli also figured in the list.

    The other names in the list include Bunty Baba Shelke from Nagpur Central, Vikas P. Thakre from Nagpur West, Dr. Nitin Kashinath Raut from Nagpur North, K.C. Padavi from Akkalkuwa, Rajendrakumar Krushnarao Gavit from Shahada, Kiran Damodar Tadavi from Nandurbar, Shrikrishkumar Surupsingh Naik from Nawapur, Pravin Bapu Choure from Sakri and Kunal Rohidas Patil from Dhule Rural.

    Congress, which is a part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, will contest on 85 seats as per the initial agreement with the allies- Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT). Shiv Sena and NCP have also been allotted 85 seats each. The parties are yet to decide on the remaining seats in 288-member Maharashtra. 

    Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena and the NCP have already released their first list of candidates for the Maharashtra assembly polls, which will see a high stake contest between the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi and the ruling Mahayuti of the BJP, Ajit Pawar’s NCP and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde‘s Shiv Sena.
