Assam CM and BJP co-in-charge of Jharkhand Himanta Biswa Sarma responded after INDIA bloc leaders filed a complaint against him with the Chief Electoral Officer accusing the BJP leader of making “inflammatory and divisive” speeches during a recent election rally in the state.
“Why complain against me? What am I saying? Why they are hurt when I am speaking against the infiltrators? Where it is written, in which law, that it is wrong to speak against infiltrators?… Talking about Hindus doesn’t mean targeting Muslims. I don’t even utter the word – Muslim. India is a Hindu civilization and to talk about protecting them is a positive thing,” he said.
During a speech in Sarath, Sarma had said, “Those people will vote in one place, but our Hindus will vote half here and half there…This government invites infiltrators because a special community will vote for them.”
