Himanta As INDIA Bloc Accuses Him Of Hate Speech In Jharkhand


Assam CM and BJP co-in-charge of Jharkhand Himanta Biswa Sarma responded after INDIA bloc leaders filed a complaint against him with the Chief Electoral Officer accusing the BJP leader of making “inflammatory and divisive” speeches during a recent election rally in the state.

“Why complain against me? What am I saying? Why they are hurt when I am speaking against the infiltrators? Where it is written, in which law, that it is wrong to speak against infiltrators?… Talking about Hindus doesn’t mean targeting Muslims. I don’t even utter the word – Muslim. India is a Hindu civilization and to talk about protecting them is a positive thing,” he said.

During a speech in Sarath, Sarma had said, “Those people will vote in one place, but our Hindus will vote half here and half there…This government invites infiltrators because a special community will vote for them.”

The INDIA bloc in its letter said, “His use of extremely divisive and hateful language targeting Muslim minorities exemplifies the venomous language used to create a civil war-like situation and incite violence in the upcoming assembly elections.”

The Assembly election in Jharkhand is scheduled to be held in two phases on November 13 and November 20. BJP has announced its manifesto do the elections and promised to
