Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locked horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match is currently underway at the Ekana Stadium on Monday, April 14.
CSK are being led by MS Dhoni after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the tournament. CSK had a tough time in their last match, suffering a big loss against KKR. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow team is doing really well this season – they’ve won 4 out of 6 matches and are currently sitting in fourth place on the points table.
With a lot riding on this match, both teams will be eager to grab a win.
CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl first against LSG.
Talking about the changes, CSK have made some notable changes to their playing XI, bringing in Jamie Overton and Shaik Rasheed in place of R Ashwin and Devon Conway. On the other hand, LSG have included Mitchell Marsh, replacing Himmat Singh.
Rishabh Pant: “It’s just amazing. We would have bowled first. In Lucknow it’s slower in the first innings, gets better gradually. The only thing we talked about CSK is that we don’t want to give them an opening, just need to give our 100%.”
MS Dhoni: “We are blessed, we get good support wherever we go. ‘Thank you’, to all the fans. We want to bowl first, there’s chances of dew here. The wicket gets better in the second innings. It’s important to set the right temperament. We haven’t been consistent with our batting. With the ball we have strong back strong. It’s important to have a positive mindset, play those big shots. “
