The much-anticipated new season of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) begins on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Organised by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA), the tournament has grown into a major platform for showcasing local talent and producing future stars.
Defending champions Ratnagiri Jets will be looking to retain their title, while other strong contenders like Kolhapur Tuskers, Puneri Bappa, and Nashik Titans aim to dethrone them. 
The MPL 2025 will feature 6 teams representing different regions of Maharashtra, playing across a round-robin format followed by knockout matches.

The Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) 2025 will run from June 4 to June 22, with the playoffs scheduled for June 20 and 21. Much like the IPL, the tournament will follow a T20 format with league stages followed by knockouts. On double-header days, matches will start at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, while morning fixtures are scheduled for 9:30 AM, promising fans all-day cricketing action.
The top four teams will advance to the playoffs. The first and second-ranked teams will compete in the Qualifier 1 where the winner will advance to the final. The loser will compete in Qualifier 2 with the winner of the Eliminator played between third and fourth-placed teams. The winner of Qualifier 2 will then play in the finals.
All games will be played at the MCA International Stadium in Pune, which has become the hub of domestic T20 action in the state.
