Samajwadi Party leader and Actor Swara Bhaskar’s husband Fahad Ahmad has joined Shrad Pawar’s NCP (SP) on Sunday, party leader Jayant Patil said.
Ahmad will contest the Maharashtra Assembly Polls and will fight the Anushakti Nagar seat against Sana Malik of NCP, Patil said.
“Samajwadi Party leader and Actor Swara Bhaskar’s husband Fahad Ahmad joined NCP-SCP. He has been fielded from the Anushakti Nagar seat against Sana Malik of NCP (Ajit Pawar),” NCP-SCP leader Jayant Patil said.
The announcement comes shortly after Samajwadi Party announced that the party would contest the elections in at least 20 seats in the state after the seat-sharing talks with Maha Vikas Aghadi’s (MVA) failed to arrive at any conclusion. Earlier, Fahad Ahmad was expected to contest the elections on the Samajwadi Party ticket.
