Supreme Court rejects PIL for probe into Viceroy’s claims | India News
NEW DELHI: Supreme Court Friday refused to entertain a PIL seeking a probe into allegations made by US-based short-seller Viceroy Research LLC against Vedanta Limited, Hindustan Zinc Limited and related entities.A bench of Justices P S Narasimha and A S Chandurkar said that it was not inclined to entertain the matter and a PIL petitioner thereafter withdrew the petition.Senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan, appearing for the petitioner, submitted that at least securities and exchange board of India (SEBI) and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) should be asked to act on complaints that had already been lodged with them but the SC turned down the plea.
