Racist rant targets ‘Indian’ students in Canada, viral video sparks outrage: ‘The refugees are here from India’ - The Indian Express

A video shared on X by RTN Canada shows an unidentified man in Canada targeting a group of young people, believed to be students, with racist remarks. The group was standing by the roadside with their luggage, seemingly waiting for a taxi, when the man began filming them without their consent.
The man begins the video saying, “Alright, the refugees are here from India. This is Justin Trudeau‘s reign. So many Indians.” He proceeds to walk around the group, zooming in on their luggage, and continues mocking them, saying, “Most of them are from India. Thanks to Justin Trudeau.”
The students, uncomfortable, largely avoid engaging with the man, although one offers a polite smile in response. The text on the video reads, “Where are the white people in Canada?”
It remains unconfirmed whether the individuals filmed were indeed Indian immigrants. However, the video has ignited strong reactions, with over a million views, many condemned the blatant racism on display.

One user wrote, “They are not refugees, they are students paying lots of money to go there.” Another user wrote, “How are they refugees when they pay money to universities to study and come with proper visas. This is utter nonsense.”
A third user commented, “I don’t condone his behaviour, but I understand what triggered it. Downtown Toronto is now not too similar to New Delhi, and that’s not hyperbole! The uncontrolled immigration from India is rapidly changing the make up of Canada which must remain MULTI-cultural, not India.”
In the comments section, the X account posted another video showing the same man confronting a couple in a food court.

In the video, he films the “Indian” couple while they are eating and verbally abuses them, all while they choose to ignore him.
