LSG, on the other hand, are sixth in the points table and come into this game on the back of two consecutive losses. While their top order has been consistently scoring runs, Rishabh Pant’s lack of runs and form, remains a concern.

End of match: Punjab Kings win by 37 runs
A big win for Punjab Kings that strengthens their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. They now move up to 2nd spot in the points table.
LSG never really found any momentum in their chase after a disastrous start, losing their top three cheaply to a fiery spell from Arshdeep Singh. Pant and Miller couldn’t rescue them either, leaving too much to do for the lower order.
Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad fought back well with an entertaining 81-run stand but the asking rate was always too high. PBKS held their nerve and wrapped it up comfortably in the end.
End of 10 overs: Lucknow Super Giants 74/5
LSG sink further as the collapse continues! They lost two more big wickets during this phase – Captain Rishabh Pant and David Miller.
Pant looked in good touch with a couple of boundaries but fell then. Miller smashed a six but couldn’t last long either. Both were dismissed by Azmatullah Omarzai, who has been brilliant with the ball.
LSG now struggling at 74/5 after 10 overs with Badoni holding one end. PBKS are totally on top.
End of powerplay: Lucknow Super Giants 38/3
Terrible start for LSG in this big run chase! They lost their top 3 batsmen early, including the big wicket of Nicholas Pooran.
Arshdeep Singh was the star as he took all three wickets and made great use of the new ball. Marsh got out for a duck, Markram was bowled and Pooran was trapped LBW and even wasted a review.
LSG are in deep trouble at 38/3 after 6 overs. Right now, PBKS are in full control of the match.
End of the innings: Punjab Kings 236/5
The Punjab Kings finish strong with Shashank Singh’s 33*(15) and Marcus Stoinis’ 15*(5), which got them to a score above par.
Prabhsimran Singh misses out on a ton after his 91(48) before Digvesh Rathi manages to dismiss him. Nehal Wadhera also plays a short cameo of 16(9) to carry on the momentum after Iyer’s wicket at 45(25).
Digvesh Rathi and Akash Singh scalp two wickets each for 46 and 30 runs conceded in their 4 overs. Prince Yadav gets a solitary wicket of Wadhera.
End of 10 overs: Punjab Kings 100/2
Prabhsimran continues to shine as he approaches his 3rd consecutive fifty with 48*(28) while Shreyas Iyer on the other end plays the second fiddle and is unbeaten at 20 off 14.
The Super Giants have not been able to get any more wickets in over 5 overs as PBKS continue to dominate. Avesh Khan has been the pick of the bowlers with only 15 conceded in 2 overs.
Akash finished his spell with 2/30 in his quota of 4 overs.
End of powerplay: Punjab Kings 66/2
Josh Inglis gets promoted after PBKS lose Priyansh Arya in the first over and smokes 30 from just 14 balls with 4 sixes and a four.
Prabhsimran continues to attack after the two wickets as he gets 29*(15) with captain Iyer on the other end at 6*(3).
Akash Singh, with his new franchise, bowls 3 overs upfront in the powerplay and gets rid of both Priyansh and Inglis with only 20 conceded.
7:00 pm: LSG captain Rishbah Pant wins the toss and has opted to bowl first in the first IPL 2025 game at Dharamsala.
6:30 pm: The toss is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. IST.
