National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, whose party is back in Jammu and Kashmir, is likely to be the next chief minister of the union territory. Abdullah’s social media post from 2014 after he faced defeat in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls has gone viral on social media.
In the post, he wrote, “Keep calm cause (because) I’ll be back”, indicating his party’s return to power,” was written on a photo shared by Omar Abdullah on X on December 24, 2014.”

The National Conference (NC)-Congress alliance won 48 seats in the Assembly polls held in the Union Territory, first time after the abrogation of Article 370.
Omar Abdullah won from both Budgam and Ganderbal Assembly seats.
