Narendra Modi is likely to be sworn in as the Prime Minister, for the third time, on June 9 at 6 PM, news agency ANI reported citing sources. It was earlier scheduled for June 8, however, the official confirmation on the final date is awaited.
Notably, this is the first time since first Congress leader Jawaharlal Nehru that a prime minister will be returning to power for a third consecutive term. NDA MPs will again meet on June 7 to formally elect Modi as their leader and the alliance leaders will then go to the President to submit their letters of support, HAM (Secular) leader and former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said after attending the meeting.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Union Cabinet is also likely to take place the same day, multiple reports said on Wednesday.
