Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be taking on each other in the 45th match of the ongoing IPL 2025. The MI vs LSG match is scheduled to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (April 27).
The upcoming MI vs LSG game will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. In the first meeting, LSG beat MI by 12 runs to extend their impressive record against the five-time champions. It was LSG’s fifth win over MI in six games.
LSG will be eyeing another win over MI and return to winning ways to reignite their playoff chances. MI, on the other hand, will be keen to avenge the loss and continue their winning run.

MI are on a roll at the moment. The five-time champions have won their last four games and will be eyeing a fifth straight win. The impressive run has put them firmly in contention for a playoff spot, and they will be eager to continue the run.
In their last game, MI thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets. Chasing 144 runs, MI chased down the total inside 16 overs by losing only three wickets. They are currently in the fourth spot in the points table with five wins from nine games.
LSG, on the other hand, are coming into this game on the back of a crushing 8-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals. After LSG set DC a target of 160 runs, the latter chased down the total inside 18 overs by losing just two wickets. LSG are currently at the sixth spot in the table with five wins.
While MI are one of the most decorated teams in IPL history, they have not been able to dominate LSG. Out of the six games between the two teams so far, LSG have won a staggering five games while MI have emerged victorious just once.
Toss winner likely to choose: Bowl first
The Wankhede Stadium favours the batters more, and both teams would like to chase rather than bat first. Additionally, fast bowlers are also expected to get some help from the surface early in the match. Both teams will be keen to exploit the bowling conditions early in the game before trying to chase down the total.
