LSG have a significant advantage in the head-to-head matchup, having won six games to MI’s one.
In the 45th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai tomorrow, i.e., April 27, at 3:30 PM IST.
The Paltans will go into the game as clear favourites, flying high on a four-match winning streak that has rekindled their season. The five-time winners had a rough start to the season, losing successive games, but rediscovered their stride with a dominant victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Now, with momentum on their side, MI will be anxious to break their home curse against LSG, a team they have yet to defeat at home. Even without Jasprit Bumrah, MI have emerged as one of the most efficient bowling groups this season. With him, however, the side looks more solid. Not to forget, the likes of Hardik Pandya, Deepak Chahar, and Trent Boult will add more fuel to the unit. With the bat, Suryakumar Yadav appears to be finding his batting form, while Ryan Rickelton excelled at the top. One of the top news for the MI fans is Rohit Sharma‘s form. Rohit proved that his knock against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wasn’t one of a kind, as he even smashed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on away turf.
LSG, contrary to popular belief, have struggled with their form in recent games and will be hoping to return to winning ways with a victory against MI. LSG have already defeated MI once this season and will draw confidence from that triumph. Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh have both made significant contributions with the bat. But the others, notably Rishabh Pant, have yet to perform. The likes of Ayush Badoni and Aiden Markram have also done well but need to be consistent. Talking about inconsistency, LSG’s bowlers have been a worry as well as Avesh Khan, Akash Deep hasn’t been able to perform at their best.
Head-to-Head:
LSG have a significant advantage in the head-to-head matchup, having won six games to MI’s one. This year as well, in their first meeting in Lucknow, the home side won by 12 runs in thrilling showdown.
