At its annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple unveiled new call recording and transcribing features as part of the much-anticipated iOS 18. This update will allow users to record and transcribe phone calls and automatic notifications will be sent to all parties, that the call is being recorded. Whether you are making or receiving a call, you can activate the recording feature.
During the call, your iPhone will generate a transcript of the conversation as well.
Audio Transcription On iPhones To Ve Available In These Languages
According to the footnote on Apple’s iOS 18 preview page, audio transcription will be available only in English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and Portuguese.
After initiating or receiving a call, you have the option to enable call recording. This ensures all participants are immediately informed that the call is being recorded, eliminating any surprises and maintaining transparency. During the recording, your iPhone can also generate a transcript of the conversation.
Additionally, the forthcoming Apple Intelligence features will offer the capability to produce a summary of the call’s key points. This will allow you to quickly review the most important information discussed.
The audio recording feature on the Phone app will makeit easier for journalists and other users to record and transcribe their calls, while ensuring that all participants are informed, for transparency.
Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based tech giant also officially announced the much-awaited iOS 18 at WWDC 2024. The iOS 18 is a big release, the company said. As widely expected, a new customisation feature has been introduced with the iOS 18 that allows users to adjust the tint colour of all their app icons. Apart from customising wallpapers, widgets and icons, with iOS, iPhone users will be able to arrange apps and widgets to better complement their wallpapers and position them to the side or just above the dock for easier access. Additionally, Dark mode has been given a fresh new look.
With focus on privacy, users on iOS 18 can lock their apps, requiring a PIN or Face ID for access. Data from locked apps will not appear in searches or other apps. Additionally, the users will be able hide apps, such as a dating app, in a secure, hidden folder which is also locked, the tech giant noted at the conference.
