Immediately After Devendra Fadnavis’ Name Gets BJP Stamp For CM’s Post, Invitation Card Surfaces

Maharashtra New CM: Devendra Fadnavis will take oath as Chief Minister on Thursday, December 5. This was decided at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s legislative party meeting on Wednesday. Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde will take oath as Deputy CMs along with him.

Meanwhile, no sooner had the BJP cleared Fadnavis’s name for the top post than the invitation card for the swearing-in ceremony surfaced. The text on the card stated that the swearing-in ceremony will be held at Azad Maidan in Mumbai at 5:30 pm tomorrow. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be present at the venue along with the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states.

Senior BJP leaders Chandrakant Patil and Sudhir Mungantiwar proposed Devendra Fadnavis’s name at the BJP legislative party meeting. The proposal was unanimously approved by all BJP leaders present, Pankaja Munde and Pravin Darekar approved it.

As soon as Devendra Fadnavis’s name was stamped by the BJP, congratulations started pouring in. Fadnavis was seen wearing a turban at the meet. BJP had appointed Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Vijay Rupani as observers for the legislature party meeting.

Fadnavis became the CM for the first time in 2014. He went on to become the only Maharashtra CM other than Vasantrao Naik to have completed a full term in office. He took oath as CM for the second time on November 23, 2019, but resigned five days later.

After being elected as the leader of the legislature party, Devendra Fadnavis said: “We have to move forward with a big goal in mind. We have to move ahead taking everyone with us.” Fadnavis further thanked Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
