The Cuban presenter Alexander Otaola is back in the headlines, this time after sharing a screenshot on Instagram showing his name trending in the United States on the social network X (formerly Twitter). In the image, Otaola emphasized his position among the most mentioned terms, accompanied by a message filled with sarcasm: “Not only am I going to make the world shout my name. They will make me trend. Oh, how I suffer, how I suffer!”
The publication comes at a time when Otaola’s name has been widely mentioned on social media, particularly following the massive concert by Oniel Bebeshito at the Pitbull Stadium in Miami. During the event, attendees repeatedly chanted “Suffer Otaola,” in response to the critical comments the host had made in the weeks prior, when he questioned the reggaeton artist’s ability to fill such a large venue.
Otaola had asserted on his show that Bebeshito would not be able to achieve a sold-out performance, insisting that “you’re not Bad Bunny” and that “that stadium cannot be filled with Cubans alone.” However, the event proved otherwise, bringing together nearly 20,000 fans, mostly Cubans, and establishing itself as a milestone for Cuban urban music.
In response to the wave of mentions and criticisms following the concert, the host quickly reacted with ironic posts. Among them was a screenshot he shared showing his name trending.
The screenshot shared by Otaola shows that, despite the chants against him or the discussions surrounding Bebeshito’s concert, his figure continues to have a significant impact on public debate. His ability to position himself as a trending topic, even in adverse contexts, highlights his influence in the Cuban-American media landscape.
Some of Otaola’s followers reacted to the post with comments like: “The concert was for Bebeshito, but the trend was Otaola,” “They just can’t live without you. You made history, Alex; 18,000 screamed your name,” “They didn’t mention Bebeshito, only the name of the great Otaola,” and “The true protagonist.”
Alexander Otaola became a trending topic on social media due to the mentions and criticisms he received after Oniel Bebeshito’s successful concert in Miami, where the audience repeatedly chanted “Suffer Otaola” in response to his previous comments underestimating the reggaeton artist’s ability to fill the stadium.
Before the concert, Otaola expressed skepticism regarding Bebeshito’s ability to fill the Pitbull Stadium, stating that he was not a star on the same level as Bad Bunny and doubting that he could draw 20,000 people to the event.
After the concert, Otaola reacted with irony and sarcasm on his social media, noting that the event was 80% full and making critical comments about the perception of the concert’s success.
Oniel Bebeshito’s concert in Miami drew nearly 20,000 fans, achieving a full house at the Pitbull Stadium and marking a milestone in his musical career.
