Delhi Elections 2025 Arvind Kejriwal Unfulfilled Promises Clean Yamuna Roads - Supreme News247

Delhi Elections 2025 Arvind Kejriwal Unfulfilled Promises Clean Yamuna Roads

Delhi Elections 2025 Arvind Kejriwal Unfulfilled Promises Clean Yamuna Roads

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reflected on his government’s performance over the past five years and admitted to having failed to deliver three major promises made during the 2022 assembly polls in the national capital.

Speaking at an event on Thursday, Kejriwal said his government could not deliver on the promise of cleaning the Yamuna River, ensuring clean tap water for every household, and transforming Delhi’s roads to European standards.

He attributed the COVID-19 pandemic and imprisonment of Aam Aadmy Party leaders, including himself, as the reason for failing to keep the promises.

“The first two-and-a-half to three years were consumed by the Covid-19 pandemic. After that, one by one, our important members were jailed in fake cases,” he said, reported India Today.

He further said that despite the challenges, his government has formulated a complete plan and the necessary funds to accomplish these goals.

“Give me one more chance, and I will complete these works in the next five years,” Kejriwal said urging the voters to re-elect his government in the national capital.

He also highlighted the AAP government’s achievement and said: “In the last 75 years, no one could have imagined that the children of the poor could get a good education or that everyone could access quality healthcare. We have ensured 24-hour electricity for everyone.”

“The AAP government has created hope in the country,” he added.

The Bharatiya Janata Party was quick to counter the claims attacking Kejriwal over the issue of renovation of his official residence and cleaning of Yamuna.

BJP leader Amit Malviya said the party completed construction of the new Parliament and Kartavya Path during the Covid-19 period. He also said that the water minister was never arrested so “why wasn’t clean water delivered to the people of Delhi?”

“Kejriwal claimed he couldn’t deliver on his promises because three years were lost to COVID and two years were consumed by legal cases. But during the pandemic, he constructed his ‘sheesh mahal.’ Meanwhile, the BJP completed the new Parliament building and Kartavya Path in the same period. The water minister was never arrested – so why wasn’t clean water delivered to Delhi’s residents,” Malviya said in a post on X.
