Amid the seat-sharing talks with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Congress formed a committee on Tuesday for the upcoming assembly polls in Haryana.
The grand-old party is likely to ally with the Samajwadi Party (SP) and CPM for the assembly polls, sources told ABP Live.
AAP is likely to get 5 seats, while the SP and the CPIM are likely to get one seat each. A meeting to the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) is underway at Congress headquarters in the national capital for the Haryana Assembly polls.

Speaking on the alliance with AAP, Babaria said, “Rahul Gandhi told us yesterday to explore whether the request is beneficial for us or not and if it is beneficial, it should be taken forward. He did not say anything more than that…There is nothing with any other party. Maybe SP and CPI made a request.”
In today’s meeting, the discussion is likely to be held in over 41 seats while the recommendations will be considered and CEC will grant its approval.
The Haryana in-charge also spoke on athlete Vinesh Phogat, who has announced contesting the state polls. “As per my understanding, you will have clarity over this tomorrow,” Babaria said.
As per reports, the CEC of the Congress has cleared the names of 34 candidates on Monday for the election. The list included 22 sitting Haryana MLAs.
The Haryana assembly election will be held on October 5, while the counting will be done on October 8.
