Axis Bank Q2 results: Net profit falls 26% to Rs 5,090 crore; operating profit dips as provisions rise
Private sector lender Axis Bank on Wednesday reported a 26 per cent decline in standalone net profit to Rs 5,089.64 crore for the quarter ended September 2025, down from Rs 6,917.57 crore in the same period last year and Rs 5,806.14 crore in the preceding quarter.The bank’s net interest income (NII) rose marginally by 1 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 2 per cent year-on-year to Rs 13,745 crore, according to an exchange filing, PTI reported. Operating profit fell 3 per cent to Rs 10,413 crore, while core operating profit stood at Rs 9,915 crore.Axis Bank’s operating costs grew 5 per cent year-on-year in Q2FY26. Gross NPA stood at 1.46 per cent, down 11 basis points quarter-on-quarter but up 2 basis points year-on-year, while net NPA was 0.44 per cent compared with 0.34 per cent a year ago. Provisions and contingencies for the quarter rose to Rs 3,547 crore from Rs 2,204 crore in the corresponding period of 2024-25.
