Apollo Tyres to set up new Finland facility: Testing begins Dec 2025, key details

Apollo Tyres is gearing up to strengthen its product development with a new, dedicated outdoor tyre testing facility in Ivalo, Finland. The site will focus exclusively on evaluating winter and all-season tyres, allowing the company to test in authentic snow and ice conditions. Operations are set to begin in December 2025.
Apollo Tyres’ new facility in Finland: What to expect
Developed in collaboration with UTAC, a global automotive testing and certification group, the facility will feature purpose-built tracks and infrastructure designed specifically for cold-weather performance trials. This arrangement gives Apollo Tyres exclusive access to the proving grounds, removing scheduling constraints and enabling year-round testing flexibility.
Daniele Lorenzetti, Chief Technology Officer at Apollo Tyres, said the investment will boost efficiency and control. With the new track, the company can streamline development, avoid delays, and fine-tune products under its own timelines. This will be a key advantage for both Apollo and its Vredestein brand, particularly during the crucial winter season.By consolidating testing in one location, Apollo Tyres expects to achieve greater precision and repeatability in measuring performance on snow and ice. This will also help reduce time-to-market for new products. Once operational, the Finland facility will be expected to play a central role in ongoing and future tyre projects, supporting the company’s goal of delivering winter and all-season tyres for a global market.Stay tuned to TOI Auto for latest updates on the automotive sector and do follow us on our social media handles on Facebook, Instagram and X.
