BJP Intensify Efforts to Woo Voters as Campaigning Nears End

With campaigning for the Haryana Assembly elections 2024 coming to an end on Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is turning no stone unturned to return for the third consecutive term in the state. Before the silence period started at 6 pm, political heavyweights were making their presence felt across the state. In the Palwal Assembly segment, BJP leaders Himanta Biswa Sharma, and Tejaswi Surya campaigned for party candidate Gaurav Gautam and urged the voters to elect the saffron party to prevent it from converting into neighbouring Nuh district, where allegedly ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans are raised.

Haryana will poll in a single phase, covering all 90 assembly seats, on Saturday (5 October). The votes will be counted on October 8th, coinciding with the counting in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking at the event, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma slammed Congress and said if the ‘baap-beta’ (father-son) duo Bhupinder and Deepender Hooda should not be given a chance to form the government or Palwal will turn Nuh.

“The father-son government is not going to be formed…Congress has created an atmosphere of appeasement…Ram Lalla has come in place of Babur, but Babur is hiding in every corner of the country…..he has to be killed and taken out…Just like Israel has worked against terrorism, our government will work the same against terrorism… If the father-son government is formed, then slogans of Pakistan Zindabad will start being raised in Palwal like Nuh,” he said.

Bangalore South MP Surya also spoke on similar lines and said, “Nuh is near Palwal, and slogans of Pakistan Zindabad are raised there. If Congress wins in Palwal, then slogans will start being raised in Palwal too.”

Before campaigning ends today, several BJP heavyweights are scheduled to hold rallies in the state. While UP CM Yogi Adityanath, his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sharma and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will hold three public meetings each, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP leaders Anurag Thakur and Tejasvi Surya will campaign in the state.
