West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of acting as a BJP stooge, alleging a backdoor attempt to implement the NRC through special electoral roll revisions. Banerjee claims the ECI is seeking extensive documentation, including parents’ birth certificates, from voters born between specific dates, calling it a scam.
