The 69th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) features the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) up against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. Match holds utmost importance for the Bengaluru based side as a win tonight will help them finish in top 2 of the table.
A top 2 finish will allow the team to get two chances to make it to the finale of the tournament. However, the task won’t be easy as RCB will miss several of their key players, including their Aussie finisher, Tim David.
For starters, Tim David suffered a hamstring injury during the clash Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad. While fielding in the last over, he chased a ball and got injured as the player was taken off the field.
David came out to bat but the batter looked severely injured as he failed to deliver the goods and was dismissed cheaply. As a precautionary measure ahead of the playoffs, David has been rested by the franchise.
In his place, the team has brought in the out of favour, Liam Livingstone. The Englishman can chip in with a couple of overs and could cause some trouble with the bat as well.
Also, with no Lungi Ngidi and Josh Hazlewood, Nuwan Thushara, the Sri Lankan pacer will make his RCB debut tonight.
1 Phil Salt, 2 Virat Kohli, 3 Mayank Agarwal, 4 Liam Livingstone, 5 Jitesh Sharma (wk), 6 Romario Shepherd, 7 Krunal Pandya, 8 Bhuvneshwar Kumar, 9 Yash Dayal, 10 Nuwan Thushara, 11 Suyash Sharma
