PRODUCTSJosh Hazlewood and Tim David [Source: @AnujTweeting, @mufaddal_vohra/X]
In a major boost for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), veteran fast bowler Josh Hazlewood rejoined the team this morning ahead of the upcoming group-stage match against LSG. Led by Rajat Patidar, RCB are gearing up for their final match at Ekana Stadium before the all-important playoffs.
While Jacob Bethell and Lungi Ngidi are set to leave the RCB camp for national duties, there’s still uncertainty looming over Tim David’s availability for this match. As the stage is set for a cracking contest, let’s see how RCB’s playing XI could shape for the crucial encounter.

South African fast bowler Lungi Ngidi replaced Josh Hazlewood in two successive matches, with the Australian speedster being sidelined due to a shoulder injury. However, in a massive boost for RCB, Hazlewood has rejoined the Royal Challengers camp and will likely participate in the upcoming match against LSG.
Before getting injured, Hazlewood exhibited sublime form in the IPL 2025, scalping 18 wickets in ten matches at a magnificent strike rate of twelve. In his absence, RCB looked ordinary with the ball, conceding 200-plus totals to CSK and SRH in consecutive matches.
Swashbuckling Australian batter Tim David struggled to walk after sustaining an injury while fielding during the high-voltage RCB vs SRH match. If he doesn’t get fitness clearance, RCB might recall Liam Livingstone to their playing XI against LSG.
Livingstone, who slammed a blistering fifty against Gujarat Titans, was dropped from the team following a series of middling returns. Thus, if he gets in, Livingstone will get a golden opportunity to redeem himself ahead of the playoffs.
Left-arm fast bowler Yash Dayal was one of RCB’s high-profile retentions before heading to the mega auction. However, the seamer has looked scratchy with the ball, letting down his team with several ordinary performances.
Overall, Dayal has picked ten wickets in twelve matches at a strike rate of 23 and a mediocre economy rate of 23. With Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar likely to bowl with the new ball, RCB could consider recalling Rasikh Dar as their third seamer.
The right-arm pacer is known for his immaculate line and subtle variations. Thus, he can be a valuable asset for RCB in this match.
Meanwhile, RCB might not take a risk on Rajat Patidar and continue to play him as a specialist batter as he’s still recovering from a finger injury.
