IPL 2025 Playoffs Qualification: A fierce competition can be witnessed in the top half of the standings, with at least three teams vying for 20 points or more.
IPL 2025 Playoff Qualification Scenarios: The race for the IPL 2025 playoffs is heating up as the tournament heads towards the business end. With 16 games remaining in the league, eight of 10 teams are still mathematically in the Playoffs qualification race, with former champions Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals being the only two teams to be eliminated.
A fierce competition can be witnessed in the top half of the standings, with at least three teams vying for 20 points or more.
While Royal Challengers Bengaluru have reached 16 points and are followed by Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at 14 points, a checkpoint that determined at least one Playoffs spot last year, the top four for this season are yet to be finalised.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru
RCB remaining fixtures: vs LSG (away), vs SRH, vs KKR
RCB can reach a maximum of 22 points if they win all of their remaining matches. Despite concerns at the Chinnaswamy, RCB will be confident of earning a Playoffs spot should they win at least one more game to reach 18 points. A win over CSK on Saturday has lessened the pressure on Rajat Patidar’s team.

Punjab Kings
PBKS remaining fixtures: vs DC, vs MI, vs RR (away)
Punjab Kings are currently placed second in the standings. They will also meet direct competitors Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians in the upcoming games. They still need one more win to remain in the race. That would still leave them one short of the potential cut-off mark at 18 points before their final match against RR.

Mumbai Indians
MI remaining fixtures: vs GT, vs PBKS (away), vs DC
MI stand at the top of the standings. On a six-match winning run, MI can extend their winning run to nine with wins in their remaining games and shore up to as high as 20 points. To confirm qualification, MI will need to win at least two games.

Gujarat Titans
GT remaining fixtures: vs MI (away) vs DC (away), vs LSG, vs CSK
Even if GT lose their next match against Mumbai Indians, they can maximum reach to 20 points with wins in their other three matches. GT, too, might need to win at least two of the remaining games to breach the cut-off mark.

Delhi Capitals
DC remaining fixtures: vs SRH (away), vs PBKS (away), vs GT, vs MI (away)
DC will face a massive challenge as they will take on three top 4 teams in their upcoming matches. Down to 12 points in 10 matches, DC can still reach 20 points should they win all games. It means eventual cut-offs could trim even below 18 points, but they might need three more wins.

Lucknow Super Giants
LSG remaining fixtures: vs RCB, vs GT (away), vs SRH
Down to seventh place with 10 points, LSG will need to win all three games to stand a chance of making the Playoffs race tight.

Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR remaining fixtures: vs CSK vs SRH (away), vs RCB (away)
KKR will be eyeing the top two finish as they have no matches left against the MI and GT. They can jump to 17 points with wins in all games, but will also have to hope that RCB and PBKS do not win more than two games in their remaining outings.

Sunrisers Hyderabad
SRH remaining fixtures: vs DC, vs KKR, vs RCB (away), vs LSG (away)
SRH stand on the brink of getting eliminated after their latest defeat to GT are the 2024 runners-up. Pat Cummins and Co. can move up to 14 points with a resurgence in their last four matches. That could still prove to be a little too late in the Playoffs race, as at least four teams can comfortably cross 14 points
