3 Players Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Can Acquire In IPL 2026 Trade Window – Cricket.com

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) started the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on a good note, winning five of their first eight fixtures. However, Rishabh Pant and Co. could only win one of their last six matches and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Pant had a horrible tournament, but LSG struggled in other departments as well.
According to several media reports, the IPL 2026 trade window started on July 4, and here are three players LSG would be interested in signing before the next auction.
LSG had the third-worst average and scoring rate in death overs in IPL 2025, with the likes of David Miller and Abdul Samad not making much impact. And that’s where someone like Bevon Jacobs could come in handy. The right-handed dasher from New Zealand didn’t play a single game for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2025, but has the numbers (average 32.53, strike rate 148.42) to slot into LSG’s middle-order.
With Mitchell Marsh only playing as a batter, LSG missed a fast-bowling all-rounder in IPL 2025, and they could fix that by acquiring Sam Curran from Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He played just five games for CSK last season. The left-hander from England has improved immensely with the bat in T20s since 2024, having scored 1,684 runs at an average of 33.02 and a strike rate of 137.5. The left-arm seamer also has 66 wickets at a strike rate of 20.3 in this period.
Another player LSG could get from CSK is Nathan Ellis. With Matheesha Pathirana in the team, CSK could only give one game to Ellis. Meanwhile, LSG don’t have a single proven overseas seamer in the set-up. The Australian has been one of the best seamers in the 20-over format since 2021, having managed 174 wickets @ 22.5 and an economy rate of 8.1. Ellis is one of the rare all-phase bowlers in world cricket.
